A chic approachable blog that celebrates food with informative posts

After moving to the Berkshires in 2007, Frances Duncan found herself surrounded by the abundance of local bounty and eager to share her appreciation.

“Every meal felt like a celebration worthy of documentation,” says Duncan, who soon began writing about such experiences. In May 2009, she launched Plate to Plate, a chic, approachable blog that celebrates food with informative posts about gardening at a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm, her restaurant and farmers’ market experiences, advice and recipes—all with a cheerful, locavore bent.

Links to like-minded blogs and helpful organizations, plus Duncan’s stunning photography, provide the site with just enough information to educate while inspiring others to begin their own adventures in sustainability.

“The site gets me out exploring new restaurants and markets, and meeting interesting people,” Duncan says, “and if I can connect others to the dedicated, local-food culture I’ve found here, even better.” [MAR/APR 2010]
